Chicken Coop

Hope for Youth Uganda now has a poultry farm that provides a viable source of protein for the children and income from selling eggs to help contribute to teachers’ salaries. This project helps Hope For Youth Uganda to become an independent, ongoing, viable and self-reliant organization. The poultry is also a source of manure that will increase the yields of its gardens.

AMOUNT RAISED: $10,200

  • Thank you to O. W. Holmes Elementary School 5th graders and Glencoe Central Middle School Social Action Club for raising funds to complete the coop construction!

  • Thank you to Dominican University Graduate School of Social Work students for raising funds for the chicken coop!

  • Thank you to St. Ignatius school in Portland, Oregon fo raising funds to buy chicks!

  • Up to 2,000 eggs per day will provide nutrition for students and revenue to pay teachers salaries!
